When a pet passes away, it is difficult to find the compassionate and loving support that are given when a human dies. Delta Society’s staff and constituents recognize that our companion, service, and/or therapy animals are part of the family and have a special spirit.
Those of us who have enjoyed the comfort and unconditional love animals provide look for ways to celebrate the bond. Some choose to show their appreciation for these animals through donations to Delta Society to help further our mission of improving human health through service and therapy animals.
To honor new animals that come into our lives, to celebrate its birthday, and to memorialize those that have given so much, Delta Society has created an Animal Honorarium and Memorial Fund that will be used in the following manner:
- To continue to fulfill our mission of improving human health through service and therapy animals
- To continue to produce information that documents the positive effects animals have on our lives
- To continue to produce information about pet loss and how to cope during this difficult time
For donations of $25 and above, Delta Society will acknowledge those donation with a special card to the donor and/or the honoree. All such donations will be acknowledged in Interactions magazine.
For those people that choose to honor or memorialize their animal(s) in the amount of $100 or more, Delta Society will add the pet’s photo and story to the Pet Memorials section of our website for one year. View Delta Society Web Memorials.
